MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – September 24, 2018 5:00 PM
Selectmen Present: Eric R. Munson, Jr., Steven DellaGiustina and Patrick Barrett
Also Present: Mira Munson
Steve spoke on behalf of Greg Kelmelis. There is a new home construction located across from Greg. The property owners stripped all the top soil creating water flow issues and forcing sand/silt to fill the culverts. The location of the culvert that runs under the street may be of some concern. Steve will speak with Ed to find a solution.
Mira – Council on Aging has been awarded an additional grant of $5,000 to be used before June 30th. COA would like to use it along with $1,000.00 towards the purchase and installation of an air conditioning unit for the Community Room located at the Public Safety Complex. COA will be approaching the Tolland Fire Department (501C3) to help fund the project. A quote from State Line was received in the amount of $9,989.00 with electrical being approximately $500. Mira is asking if the town’s budget could also help fund the project. The board will discuss further after COA speaks with the Fire Department.
Discussion was had about the outside lights located at the PSC.
The Board of Selectmen voted to move the locatation of Tolland’s Council on Aging Senior Center to the Community Room located at the PSC. A sign will be made stating the location. Steve moved to relocate Senior Center, seconded by Patrick. The motion carried unanimously
