Town of Tolland

MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING –   August 10, 2020 5:00 PM

Selectmen Present:   Eric R. Munson, JR and Patrick Barrett

Also Present:   Ed Deming

                        Jeff LaCasse, Emergency Management Director

The board discussed ambulance services. At the Special Town Meeting held in February in Tolland it was asked of the two Sandisfield Selectboard members that were present, to provide Tolland with a budget and department statistics before voting any additional monies for the ambulance services. With not receiving such information the Tolland Selectboard thought it be in the best interest to just pay the town per call that provides the service.

Jeff informed the board of the storm damage. Jeff asked if there are monies available to finish cleaning up the fallen trees left on the roadsides. There are no funds available from the state to help with the cost of cleanup. Ed stated that the DPW crew will push back any fallen trees that have been left on the roadsides.

Ed discussed the option of patrolling Otis Reservoir with the acceptance of receiving a donated boat from the state. Eric stated he would rather not have Tolland be involved when it’s the state responsibility to patrol. Patrick has concerns as to where the boat will be housed. Patrick would like to see a plan from the Police Department before coming to a decision.
