MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING –  June 3, 2019 6:00 PM

Selectmen Present:    Eric R. Munson, Jr., Steven DellaGiustina and Patrick Barrett

Peter Larkin, Special Advisor, MA Executive Office of Housing & Economic Development

Peter Larkin presented the board with a letter from Michael Baldino, Director and General Counsel, Massachusetts Broadband Institute which included information on the status of the proposal submitted by Comcast. Comcast would provide broadband access to the residents of the Town of Tolland.  (Letters attached)

The Board of Selectmen scheduled a Special Town Meeting for Tuesday, June 18th at 6:30 to authorize a FREE CASH transfer of $150,000 to cover Broadband expenses to install telephone poles down 3 miles of Schoolhouse Road.

Selectboard voted unanimously to approve the proposal from Comcast to provide broadband access to the residents of Tolland. The Selectboard is also eager to move forward with this process and have broadband access a reality in Tolland

Patrick made motion to appoint Paula Sharon as Ballot and Tally Clerk, seconded by Steve, so moved.

The Special Town Meeting of June 18th will also include an article authorizing the board to enter into a 10 year contract with MRF(Springfield Materials Recycling Facility)
