MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING –  April 1, 2019 5:00 PM

The Town of Sandisfield approached Tolland with a request of $30,000 to help fund a “Public Safety Officer”. Sandisfield would be hiring a person to cover Police, Fire and EMT. Patrick will meet the Sandisfield Board of Selectmen to discuss further.

Department of Public Works FY2020 will be presented as level funded in the amount of $111,800 and the excavator will be requested as a capital item. Steve moved to include an article on the town meeting warrant, seconded by Patrick. Opposed by Eric.

Ed would like to remove 4hrs per month training hours and add additional patrol hours and a “Resource Officer” to the Police Department Salary. A “Resource Officer” would be placed within the Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional Schools. He would like to schedule two 6hr days. The Board of Selectmen and Finance Committee agreed to reduce the training to the required Policeman training hours and 6hours a week for a Resource Officer.
