Fire Fighters for Food

Members of the Community,

The members of the Tolland Fire Department are working with Our Community Food Pantry in their annual food drive which takes place on Saturday November 17, 2018. We are calling it “Firefighters for Food” Firefighters will be by on Saturday November 17th between 9am and 10am to pick up your bags at your mail box. Please fill your bag or bags with nonperishable food items. Bags will be picked up and then dropped at the collection point at the Tolland Fire House where they will be loaded into the departments enclosed trailer and brought to Our Community Food Pantry in Southwick for stocking and the distribution to those in need.

Our Community Food Pantry serves the towns of Southwick, Tolland and Granville. The food pantry in 2017 distributed 131,000 pounds of food to those in need throughout the three communities. In 2018 88,000 pounds of food have been given out so far with the busy holiday season fast approaching. The Pantry has over 640 clients and continues to grow each year.

Bags may also be dropped off at the firehouse by placing them inside the red trailer which is parked out front. Please use the small side door to gain access to the trailer.
