A Reminder about Disposal Fees

A friendly reminder to all residents who use the Transfer Station -

Please speak with Jeff before disposing of items going into the electronic and bulk containers. The Town is charged to dispose of all items collected at the Transfer Station. A Transfer Station sticker covers the cost to dispose of refuse and recyclables. Use of the electronic and bulk containers is an additional cost. Pricing lists are included below. The Town can only accept checks. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Acceptability and fees for items will be at the discretion of the Attendant.

MATTRESS DISPOSAL COST INCREASE:

The Town will be charged $120 per mattress to dispose (all sizes). Pricing has increased due to the textile ban in Massachusetts. The Town is working towards finding a reasonable cost effective option for residents to recycle mattresses and box springs.

UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS

Hazardous materials: Automobile fluids and filters, No liquids: paint thinner, solvents, flammable liquids, gases or empty cans from pesticides, household or pool chemicals

Tires

Lead-acid batteries

Animals or animal waste, medical waste

Asbestos

Radioactive materials

Timber – poles or any construction materials

Other items may be refused at the discretion of the staff.

THE DUMPSTER WILL BE AVAILBLE ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS UNTIL FULL.

Not all items are included on the price list. ALL household electronic items are accepted in this container.

Light bulb and batteries are accepted.
