TOLLAND IS GOING GREEN
On April 22 the Tolland Selectmen voted to join most other towns in the Commonwealth and participate in the Green Community Program of the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources. Once we qualify for the program it will provide grants to Tolland to fund energy efficiency initiatives, renewable energy and innovative projects. To qualify for the grants Tolland must adopt specific zoning rules related to solar farms, establish our base line energy use for municipal facilities and vehicles, and adopt the Stretch Building Code for new construction.
On Saturday June 29 at 10 AM at the Public Safety Complex
Jim Barry, the western Mass coordinator for this program, will give a presentation on this program. Including what the town can expect to receive and what we must do. Please join us for this presentation. Coffee and doughnuts will be available
