Annual Street Census

From the Office of the Town Clerk:

ANNUAL STREET CENSUS

Every household should have received an envelope from the Town Clerk’s office by now containing street census and dog licensing forms.  Every household that has full time residents should complete the street census for all occupants including children.  If you did not receive the form in the mail and are full time residents, including renters, contact me and I will send another form out to you.

The annual street census is required by the State of Massachusetts and failure to sign and return this form whether or not you have any corrections, additions or deletions, will result in removal from the active voters list.  If you are moved to the inactive list you will be asked the next time to come to vote to show a photo ID to prove that you still reside at the same address as previous information.

Regarding making changes on the street census:

Removing someone from your household.  If this person is a registered voter I can’t remove them without a letter signed by them indicating they no longer live at the residence and wish to be removed as a registered voter.

Changing your political affiliation/party.  Marking a different party on the street census will not change your party you much fill out the you must fill out the proper form/s sign them and send them to me.  You can find links to registering to vote on the town website on the Town Clerk’s page.

Regarding dog licensing:

All dogs and cats are required by the State of Massachusetts to be vaccinated for rabies and you must license any dog 6 months or older in the town where you reside.  Current licenses expire the last day of February use the form you were sent with the street census to renew or license a new dog.  Tags will be arriving the first week of February at that time I will then start sending them out.
