Requesting Absentee Ballots for the Town Elections

The Town Election will be held on Wednesday June 12, 2019.at the Public Saftey Complex (PSC)

The polling hours are 11:30 am to 7:00 pm.

The only reasons to request absentee ballots are as follows:

  1. Absence from the town during the hours the polls are open.
  2. Physical disability preventing you from going to the polling place.
  3. Religious belief.

OR

  1. a Massachusetts citizen absent from the state;
  2. an active member of the armed forces or merchant marines, their spouse or dependent;
  3. a person confined in a correctional facility or a jail, except if by reason of felony conviction.

Absentee ballots may be requested up until noon on Tuesday June 11, 2019.  The absentee ballot request forms are available on our town website www.tolland-ma.gov , on the State of Ma website and at the town hall.  The request must be completed and received by the Town Clerk prior to the ballot being mailed to you.  Be sure to follow the instructions when completing the absentee ballot which includes filling out the front of the brown envelope, signing it and sealing your ballot inside.

Absentee ballots can’t be dropped in the mail slot in the Town Hall front door.  Ballots must be either mailed so that there is a postmark or hand delivered to the Town Clerk.  You must contact the Town Clerk to make an appointment if you wish to come in to her office to request and vote an absentee ballot.
