ORDER of BUSINESS:

Call to Order at 9:15

Attendance:  Ruth Buchanan, Dave Spidal, Mira Munson, Sally Munson, Mary Anne Deming  regrets: Pat Storey, Nina Greene, Ann Skibski, Jennifer Clark

Review of Minutes –The minutes f November 10 and the Notes of December 14 were approved unanimously

Treasurers Report & Budget Update-  The attached report showing a balance of $4250.75 was unanimously accepted

Communications – Highland Valley is trying to be more responsive to the Hilltowns and is reaching out to offer services.

Upcoming Events

Morning Coffee -  Going well. Attendance between 8-15 per week

Fire Department Spaghetti Feb 4.  We will provide hot chocolate and cookies between6:00 and 8:00 PM.  Hot water will be set up inside door with packets of hot chocolate. Ruth to get chocolate.  All be there to set up at 4:30. Mary Anne to get cookies

Chili Day in Tolland  Will finalize at Feb meeting.  Dave will investigate and plan a donation table where people can bring small items to “donate” with a suggested donation amount with money to go to Food Pantry.

Old Business

Transportation – Review Program- 2 rides in December.  Need more drivers.  Mary Anne to reach out to regional transportation and to talk to Steve D. about regionalization transportation

Birthday Cards – Status Update—9 M and 9 F

Outreach Worker – Status Update – Report attached 

New Business

New Council Member – Welcome Sally Munson

Food Reimbursement Stipend – Moved, seconded and approved unanimously that COA provide a stipend to Mary Anne Deming to help pay for ingredients for all the goods she prepares for coffee and meetings. The amount at this time to be $50.00.

Other – Mira brought up for discussion safety at the dump.  The container for plastic and glass is too high and there is a gap between the ground and the container which makes it difficult for short people and seniors to empty into the container. Mary Anne will discuss with the Selectmen.

--During emergencies who is checking with critical need seniors? Emergency Management should have a list and procedures, but director is not here.  Police should be involved. Mary Anne will discuss with the selectmen and the police chief.
