ORDER of BUSINESS:

Called to Order at 9:16 AM

Attendance - Jean Armitage, Ruth Buchanan, Dave Spidal, Mira Munson, Pat Storey, Jennifer Clark – Regrets Ann Skibski

Review of Minutes –Nov. 13, 2018 – The minutes were approved; Ruth Buchanan abstained on the vote.

Outreach Worker report – Attached; all active cases needing assistance are under control.

Treasurers Report & Budget Update - Attached

Old Business

Transportation – Review Program – Two rides in November

Birthday Cards – Status Update – 18 sent

Formula Grant and Special Grant – The formula grant form was sent to Eric Munson, Jr. for his signature and will be sent to the state. There was a telcom discussion with Stacey Anne O’Connell of the Elder Affairs Office on getting the Humason earmark approved and she explained the process; the forms will go in this week.

Selectmen’s meeting – AC – A second quote was obtained and it was higher than the first. The Selectmen are in the process of signing the contract with State Line.

Discussion of Outreach Workers position – It was decided to maintain the position as is currently operating.

New Business

Lock Box Program – Pat has to follow up with the Chiefs

Computer Assist Program – Attached is the information about the Otis program. This will be included in our Jan News Letter

Granville COA – No activity from them. We will include them on our news letter distribution.

Other – 1. Jean discussed the concept of awareness training of citizens who come into contact with dementia / Alzheimer affected people. It was suggested that a multi town training session be set up; Dave will discuss with the other COAs at the Jan 7 joint meeting. 

2. Ruth has had discussions with PorchLight about what Tolland gets for it’s $1200 annual assessment. She read the list of services they provide. In the ensuing discussion we realized that they can and will provide many of the services that Highland Valley can not provide in Tolland. At our next meeting we will prepare the mailing and update the data base.
