ORDER of BUSINESS:

Call to Order at 9:10 by Ruth

Attendance; - Jean Armitage, Ruth Buchanan, Dave Spidal, Ann Skibski, Mira Munson, Cynthia Ashley, Pat Storey; Regrets Jennifer Clark

Review of Minutes –The minutes of July 10, 2018 were approved, Dave Spidal Abstained

Outreach Worker report – Attached. Cynthia now has a job with the town of Granby, CT. and will be employed in the Senior Center. She will continue working with us.

HVES Report – The agency has decided to stay in their current location. Cynthia will be visiting them to learn more about their services.

Treasurers Report & Budget Update – Attached. The grant from the state is $6000, up from last years $5000. Senator Humason sent a letter advising us that he has obtained a $5000 earmark for each of the COAs in his district. Pat will send him a thank you letter.

Upcoming Events

Feisty Fall Feast – Sat. Sept 22 Mira and Pat will get kids to help in the kitchen. Dave will talk to Pete about the Knox doing the cooking (they Will). We will assemble the sandwich board signs on Aug. 31 at 9 MA so they can be up for the Labor Day weekend. Pat will get the compactor sign posted.

Old Business

Performance review – Lunches - Attendance is OK - We will continue till November then review.

Performance Review – Yoga See attached report – Attendance is off from last year.

Transportation – Review Program -No activity

Birthday Cards – Status Update -14 mailed in August

Lock Box Program A letter was sent to both the Police and Fire Chiefs. We will have a meeting to further discuss with them.

New Business

Plan Menu for Feisty Fall Feast – Knox – Roast Chicken with sauce, roast pork with sauce, medley of roasted fall vegetables (including potatoes), apple sauce. Pat Pumpkin pie, whipped cream (Costco); Ann/Ruth Hawaiian Rolls and butter, cole slaw; coffee and cider; Mira Paper goods – we will inventory on Aug 31 when we do the signs.

Adjournment at 10:15

Following the meeting we prepared the mailing and set up the lunch.

Our Next Meeting will be Tuesday Sept. 11, 2018
