Minutes, Conservation Commission, December 22, 2021

 

Pursuant to Chapter 131, Section 40 MGL, the Tolland Conservation Commission held a public hearings, December 22, 2021 beginning at 5:00 PM Tolland, MA . (The meeting was held via Zoom. Any interested party could participate by emailing the site (Conservation@tolland-ma.com) between December 19-22. Information on how to access the Zoom meeting was sent before the meeting.)

HEARING began at 5:00 PM

NOI- Submitted by Paul & Tara Grenier- 125 Lands End Drive. Applicant seeks to rebuild a retaining wall within the buffer zone of Otis reservoir.Mark Reed made presentation: Will use small excavator working from bank to move and place rocks, both from fallen wall and new to be trucked in, utilizing both large rocks and small rocks. Straw waddles to be placed in reservoir bottom. Have Chapter 91, but it does not show a wall. Need to update this information. Issue regarding the ownership of wall area and the need for DCR approval/authorization Need authorization from DCR before documents can be prepared.Hearing continued to December 22 at 5:00 PMHearing continued to January 19, 2022 at request of applicant 2)RDA- Submitted by Kristina Murtha of 16 Porcupine Point. Applicant seeks to remove several trees in the buffer zone of Cranberry Pond.Alan and Valerie did the site visit. Trees in area seem to be diseased or rotting and no tree was shadowing the water. A site plan for replacement of trees was presented. Commission recommended target of June 30 for the replanting subject to availability of tree/shrub stock. After discussion a Unanimous Vote was taken for a Negative Determination RDA 2021-12
