The CHP mobile unit carries all three COVID-19 vaccine formulations and will have them at the time of the flu clinic. They are also available at local pharmacies. To receive a Pfizer COVID-19 booster during our flu clinic, people should bring their vaccination card as well as their insurance card. Their last Pfizer vaccine dose will need to have been at least 6 months earlier. The J&J and Moderna vaccines do not have an authorized booster at this time, nor is there an approval for mixing the formulations (e.g. 1st 2 doses Moderna, Pfizer booster). Research does indicate that Moderna-induced immunity is holding up better over time than Pfizer.

Here is what we received today from the state regarding booster eligibility:

Pfizer COVID-19 Booster for individuals 65 years of age and older, individuals 18-64 years of age at risk for severe COVID-19 due to underlying medical conditions, and individuals 18-64 years of age who are at increased risk for COVID-19 because of occupational or institutional settings who have previously received the Pfizer vaccine. These residents are eligible to receive their booster shot at least 6 months after their second dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
