Bits and Pieces from the Old Tolland Tattler

These items appeared in the 2nd Tolland Newsletter dated November 3, 1975. The newsletter had not yet been named the Tattler. The Board of Selectmen was asking for suggestions for a name.

- Library: New Books: The Eagle Has Landed by Jack HIggins

-Ladies Aid Society: The recipients, this year, of the Bertha Fowler Hale scholarship were Robert Carr, a student at the University of Massachusetts, and Randy Hill, a student at Springfield Technical Community College. Each received one hundred dollars. The Ladies Aid has purchased and installed a new carpet for the Town Hall kitchen.

-There is to be an Arts and Crafts Show in Granville on November 15, 1975 from 9:00am to 5:00 pm. It will be held in the School, Church and Town Hall.

-Stanley C Clark, son of John and June Clark, of the United State Marines, stationed in California, was promoted to Lance Corporal as of September 1, 1975.

-Belated wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Clifford P Mercure who celebrated their 39th Anniversary on October 17, 1975.

-The Townspeople extend get well wishes to Mrs. Grace Battistoni.
