Absentee and Early Voting for May 19th Special State Election             (Date was originally to be 3/31/2020)

Every day it seems things are changing due to COVID-19. In light of this the State is allowing absentee voting and early voting this change was made in order for all voters to be able to vote without having to come to the polls.   At this time I would encourage you to take advantage of this and do your voting now. This is a good way to keep down the number of people coming to the polls to help prevent spread of the virus not only to voters but to the election workers also.

Absentee (AV) or Early (EV) Ballot Request Forms are available to pick up at the Library drop box or can be downloaded from the Secretary of State’s Office. This page defines who may request an absentee ballot, everyone can early vote by mail for this election also.  Click on the link below for more information and to print out requests for absentee or early ballots. This page also has a link online voter registration.     https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/covid-19/covid-19.htm

Please note the ballots will have the March 31, 2020 date on them, they are valid.  Any Absentee Ballots already received or returned for the special election that was scheduled for March 31, 2020 are also still valid.  If you have already received your absentee ballot, you do not need a new one.

Complete your request for ballot and mail it to Town of Tolland, 241 W Granville Rd, Tolland 01034, drop it in the mail slot in front door of the Town Hall (facing Rt. 57) or fill it out and scan the signed form and attach it to an email to townclerk@tolland-ma.com.  Once the request for EV or AV ballot is received the ballot will be mailed to you.

Return of ballot can only be by mail and all mail-in ballots must be back before by close of polls at 8:00 p.m. on the day of the election.

Any questions please do not hesitate to call 413-258-4794 X102 or email townclerk@tolland-ma.com  I am checking voice mail and emails every day.
