Clerk’s minutes from December reviewed and accepted.
Treasurer’s report reviewed and accepted.
Treasurer’s proposed budget for 2020-2021 reviewed and accepted.
Communications shared.
Resumption of monthly birthday lunches tabled to February meeting.
Business was suspended for a presentation by Regional Directors from GOLDEN YEARS Homecare Services, a non-medical homecare (for-profit) company, who appreciate the uniqueness of providing services to the hilltowns. The service is looking for alliances and the opportunity to introduce their 2-year-old program at job fairs and similar venues.
Outreach Worker Ann presented information about DispatchHealth. Board certified professionals provide advanced medical care in the home. Patient initiates visit without referral from a health care professional. Costs comparable with urgent care facilities. Most medical insurances accepted.
Dave reported on meeting with Selectmen, discussing proposed Tax Work-off Program. The program will be on agenda of upcoming Special Town Meeting. With approval, next step would be to put it on agenda for Regular Town Meeting for the budget considerations. Proposed draft for special town meeting presented and accepted.
Jean reported on Home Services document. Disclaimer has been provided by town attorney. Recommendation to review of contractor’s license and insurance will be included. Each contractor to be contacted about inclusion on the list. Goal is for 2-3 names in each category.
Meeting with Selectmen about Porchlight issues ended with decision to discontinue paying annual fee.
Dave and Town of Monterey COA working to submit Service Incentive Grant to EOEA. Selectmen have been updated and have encouraged continuation.
Meeting adjourned at 11:50. During meeting, helpers prepared January newsletter for mailing which was greatly appreciated by the committee.
