Obituary for William Foster

William “Bill” Allan Foster of Port St. Lucie, FL. and Lands End, Tolland, MA, formerly of Enfield, CT passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 after a valiant battle with cancer.  He was a resident on Otis Reservoir for 44 years.

Bill was President of the Lands End Association for 10 years, then served as Road Agent for Lands End Drive, and was Association Representative to the Otis Reservoir Property Owners Association.

He was a First Responder for the Tolland Volunteer Fire Department, and if you went to their annual steak roast, he was the guy with the big smile who cooked the steaks.

He was also a member of the State Lakes and Ponds Association and worked on water quality and prevention of the mussels reaching Otis Reservoir.

He loved to hunt and boat and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots Fan

He was predeceased by a large family which included many brothers and sisters; his father, Forest A. Foster, his mother, Annabelle Hudson Foster. He served in the Army 1956-1959 in Korea as a helicopter crew chief. He was employed by Kaman Aerospace and ABB-Alstom Power (Combustion Engineering) as a Training Engineer.

Bill leaves behind many friends and a loving family, his wife of 61 years, Sylvia Hereford Foster, his daughter Susan Foster Perry of Feeding Hills, MA and her husband Michael, his son William Allan Foster, Jr. of Enfield, CT and his wife Emma, and his son Forest Robert Foster of Loveland, CO and his wife Tina,  6 grandsons and 5 great grandsons and one great granddaughter.

A celebration of life will be held this summer for family and friends.
