Press Release – April 1, 2006
In February 2006, the Granville Tolland Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation remembered the first anniversary of the 1st Lt. Travis J. Fuller Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Fund was created in conjunction with the Fuller family after Travis, a US Marine, was killed in early 2005 while serving his country in Iraq. Since its inception, over 179 donors have donated more than $32,000.00 and donations continue to arrive.
1st Lt. Travis Fuller Scholarships were awarded for 2005-2006 academic year to 2 deserving students pursuing careers in education. We anticipate awarding 2 more scholarships for the 2006-2007 academic year.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank once again all who donated to the Granville Tolland Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation, either via the Lt. Travis J. Fuller Memorial Scholarship or through one of our fundraising activities during the year. Your generosity has allowed us to help many college students in Granville and Tolland with their education costs.
If you have any questions about the 1st Lt. Travis J. Fuller Scholarship or the Granville Tolland Citizen’s Scholarship Foundation itself please call either Diane Lafrance at 357-6619 or Kris LeFebvre at 357-9044.
