Members present: Robert Gery, Jim Richard, Nick Urbinati, Steve DellaGiustina, Bruce Faucher and Robert Maselek
Others present: Mike Sullivan, Wayne Carr and Robert Littlefield
Meeting called to order at 6:00 pm
MINUTES: June 17th minutes were read and approved.
Chair reported that Phil Grannan would not be able to attend tonight’s meeting, but did speak with Bob as to grant opportunities from insurance companies for building and equipment etc. We would have a greater chance to get equipment grants rather than building grants.
Committee voted to recommend to selectmen that they contact Huntley Assoc. regarding a previous invoice.
Bob Maselek spoke on the advantages of building a “green” building, i.e. Those that use less energy and that the committee should try to incorporate this into both buildings.
Wayne Carr was asked about placement of equipment in the municipal complex building. What will be put where and does he need this amount of space. After much discussion the committee thought it would be a good idea to downsize the amount of bays to save on costs. Jim Richard to revise plans for next meeting
Discussed where town records are kept now and where they will be put when buildings are completed.
Bob Littlefield and Mike Sullivan spoke on the Fire Departments needs and how a 10’x12’ room for an air filling station will be needed and should be put alongside of Chief’s office. Also discussed need for an exhaust system for any vehicles that would be started in garage.
Relooked at police department area plans and wondered if this area could be cut back in size.
Chair to contact Eric Munson III and ask when he can meet with committee to discuss this issue.
Steve DellaGiustina did not connect with Tolland’s health agent this month but will make a call to see if she can walk the property on Rt. 57 with a few of the committee members to view any areas of concern.
Next meeting will be August 26th at 6 pm
The meeting ended at 7:40 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Steven DellaGiustina
Secretary
