Tolland Fire Department Regulations
Open burning of brush is permitted between January 15th and April 30th, weather and safety conditions permitting. An Open Burning Permit application must be submitted to the Tolland Fire Department before beginning your burn.
Burning on unauthorized days is illegal and subject to fines and penalties!
Procedures for Obtaining and Activating an Open Burning Permit
1. Complete Permit Application
l Complete Open Air Burning Permit Application Forms may be picked up at
Fire Department
Town Hall
l Retain 2 copies to be available for inspection when burning.
l Mail 1 copy to:
Tolland Fire Department
Attn: Chief

2. Call (413) 258-2859 24 hours prior to burning leaving your name, address of burn site and telephone # where you can be reached. If burning is not permitted that day the Chief or Deputy Chief will contact you.
3. Activate your Permit if burning is permitted by leaving your name and the burn site address
